Fisher House

Huffords Jewelry is starting Charge for Charity where each month, we pick a different organization for our watch battery proceeds to go to.  For the month of July Huffords Jewelry is donating the proceeds to the Fisher House of St. Louis.

The Fisher House provides a “home away from home” for families while their loved one is receiving medical care at the St. Louis VAHCS or local hospitals.
There is no charge to stay at the St. Louis Fisher House, so charitable contributions are an important source of funding.Through community support, we’re able to provide just about everything a guest would need including food, toiletries and household items.

The Fisher House was started by Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher they donated 24 “comfort homes” built on the grounds of military and VA major medical centers. The program began in 1990. The first two houses were opened in 1991. The first one was dedicated by President George H. W. Bush. The second one was open in Washington D.C.
